To examine the blade and the blade guard

WARNING: A damaged cutting blade can cause injury.
  1. Make sure that the cutting blade is attached correctly and does not show signs of damage.
  2. Make sure that the blade guard has no cracks or is damaged.
  3. Replace the blade guard if it is damaged. See To attach the cutting blade
